On results of the International Forum «Week of Efficient Gas Distribution and Utilization»

The International Forum Week of efficient distribution and utilization of gas took place in Moscow during 13-15 of October.
The organizers of the Forum were OAO Gazprom jointly with OAO Gazprom promgaz, National gas-motor association of Russia, MVK exhibition holding and OOO Gazprom VNIIGAZ.

One of the key events of the Forum was the conference «Еfficient gas distribution and utilization», which took place on October the 15th, 2009 at President Hotel.

More than 300 people participated in the conference: representatives of the bodies of federal and regional power, CEOs and employees of Russian and foreign gas companies and energy companies, public organizations, scientists and specialists.
The main tasks of the conference were: discussion of the ways for implementing the Decree by Russian Federation President D.A. Medvedev No. 889 dated June the 4th, 2008 «On certain measures to improve energy and environmental efficiency of the Russian economy», formation of economic and regulatory and legal basis in Russia for improvement utilization of natural gas and the mechanisms for implementing energy-saving potential and production of renewable energy resources in the Russian Federation regions.

The event was opened by Oleg Aksiutin, member of the Board, head of the Department for gas transportation, underground storage and utilization of OAO Gazprom who has announced the greeting of the Chairman of the Board of OAO Gazprom A.B. Miller.

Participants of the plenary session of the conference were: Vice Chairman of the Russian Federation State Duma, President of the Russian gas society Valeriy Yazev; Deputy Governor of Kaluga Region V.V. Potemkin; Vice-Governor of Kamchatka Region Y.V. Generalov; General director of OAO Gazprom promgaz A.M. Karasevich; General director of OAO Gazprom Energo-Holding D.V. Fedorov; Director of the Institute of Energy Strategy (RF Ministry of Energy) V.V. Bushuyev; Director on Strategy and International Cooperation of the company Gasunie A. Christ; Head of the Department of Fuel and Energy Complex (Moscow Government) E.V. Sklyarov; Chief of Energy Section of Committee on Sustainable Energy of UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) A.V. Shashin.

In total, 40 reports were presented at the plenary session and at three thematic sessions related to the problems of development and operation of gas-distribution systems, energy efficiency and saving of fuel and power resources. Sharing of domestic experience as well as international experience also took place.

According to the results of the international conference, the participants considered as expedient to continue development of gasification and gas supply of the Russian Federation regions basing on the master plans of gasification and gas supply, and to reduce financial load on the population; to develop the action plan for ensuring synchronization of technical development of operating bases of gas-distributing organizations and regional gas supply systems; to develop the list of effective regulatory documents in the sphere of gas distribution and to prepare the plan for updating these documents pursuant to the requirements of the federal law «On technical regulation».
